n8n credentials
Connect the Socioi node with an API key.
The Socioi node uses Socioi API credentials (API key + host).
1. Create an API key in Socioi
- Open https://socioi.com/settings/developers → Access
- Click Generate key
- Copy the
si_live_…value immediately (shown once)
Treat the key like a password. Rotate it under the same page if it leaks.
2. Add credentials in n8n
- Open a Socioi node (or Credentials in n8n settings)
- Create Socioi API
- Fill in:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| API Key | si_live_… from Socioi |
| Host | https://socioi.com/api (default — leave as-is for production) |
- Click Test / save — a successful test calls
GET /public/v1/is-connected
Local Socioi API? Point Host at http://host.docker.internal:4000 (or your API URL) instead.
3. Use the credential
Every Socioi node in the workflow must select that credential. One key can power many workflows; rotating the key in Socioi invalidates all of them until you update the credential.
Security tips
- Prefer a dedicated key for n8n (easier to rotate without breaking scripts)
- Do not commit keys into workflow JSON exports you share publicly
- For third-party products acting on behalf of other Socioi users, use OAuth apps — the community node is built for your workspace API key
